Wise Women and the Power of a Circle

IMG_1456For more time than I care to admit, my Spirit and my Heart have been calling me to create some sort of women’s circle. During that time, the resistance to this idea was powerful. For some reason, I was letting my ego and left brain get in the way of what I knew to be truth.

The feelings of not being good enough, wanting things to be just so and not knowing exactly how it would all roll out kept me from moving forward with the idea.

The arguments in my head revolved around the logistics of where could I have the circle, who would I invite, what we would talk about and so on. These arguments, that I knew where a big distraction, kept me stuck. My choice, I know…

Recent events in my life have made me pause and take a really good look at my life. They have made me re-evaluate my life and what is important to me.

I had to take a hard look at why I was doing or not doing things and whether they where for my highest good or for others. In some areas of my life I was still trying to keep everyone happy and not necessarily myself. Sound familiar? It was time for a change.

We are currently in Mercury Retrograde. I have taken the opportunity to work with this energy and re-think, re-organize, re-member, re-boot, and re-align my life. Part of that process is to move forward with a women’s circle.

I found a couple of lovely quotes that sums up what a circle is all about and the power of a circle.

A Circle …“A circle of women may be the most powerful force known to humanity. If you have one, embrace it. If you need one, seek it. If you find one, for the love of all that is good and holy, Dive in. Hold on. Love it up. Get naked. Let them see you. Let them hold you. Let your reluctant tears fall. Let yourself rise fierce and love great. You will be changed. The very fabric of your Being will be altered by this. If you allow it. Please, Allow it.” ~ Author Unknown

“Community. Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our power.  Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healing. A circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free.”  STARHAWK, Dreaming the Dark

I have experienced the power of a circle my entire life, not really realizing it.

How often have I sat around a campfire with family and friend and enjoyed our time together laughing or crying? I have tended to that fire and enjoyed all the magic that happens around the fire and in the circle.

I have taken courses where we are in a circle, my Pagan/Wiccan celebrations are done in a circle. My most powerful learning has taken place in a circle.

Throughout time, people have gathered in circles whether to cook, eat, listen to the Elders or to share stories and experiences.  There is a magical power that is created in a circle. One we can tap into now.

Divine timing is something that I am aware of and believe in. I am finally at the point where my head has finally caught up to the calling of my Spirit and my Heart and I have created a Wise Women’s Sharing Circle.

This Circle is based on my beliefs that women need to be with kindred Spirits, who can hold sacred space in order to:

  • help each other face big decisions or issues in their lives
  • celebrate their joys and their challenges
  • be inspired by sharing their stories, their triumphs and their lessons
  • share their wisdom
  • to realize that they are not broken
  • understand their inherent power

I am really excited about this new adventure in my life! Exploring, discovering and thriving in life. How does it get any better than this?!

If being part of a Wise Women’s Sharing Circle resonates with you, please join the Circle.

  1. Wow, it sounds amazing! I really wish I still lived in Oakville and could be a part of it. The women who do join are very lucky that you’ve decided to take this leap:). Best of luck; I look forward to hearing whatever you’re willing to share about the experience. I’ll be living vicariously!

    1. I wish you were still in Oakville too! Thanks so much for the kind words Meg. We will be sharing what is appropriate. Stay tuned!!
